Group 74, a women's service club based in Brooklin, is pleased to partner with local chainsaw artist Luke Andrews to commision a special "Legacy Project" for the opening of the new Brooklin Community Centre and Library in Downtown Brooklin. The courtyard garden area will be the location of a special bench and children's seating and table. Group 74's motto is "For a Better Community" and we are pleased to host events that bring me mbers of our community of all ages together while raising funds for various community projects such as this. This Legacy Project is one that our members are very proud of and we look forward to seeing the community enjoy  resting on the benches, watching children use the table and chairs for reading, relaxing while enjoying the natural beauty of the courtyard.
Pictured here, is the log from the library that is being cut into three inch slabs. The (maple) slabs will be used to make the seat and the back of the bench. The ends of the bench will be carved from white pine.
